Destinations worth a visit in Thale are the Bodetal valley with excellent hiking paths, the cable car to the Hexentanzplatz (witches dancing circle) plateau with it’s mountain-top theatre, the wildlife park, Harzbob sledding track and much more.
Slightly further away are the Brockenbahn small steam railway, the town of Wernigerode, the Teufelsmauer (devil’s wall), the Rübeländer dripstone caves, the UNESCO protected town of Quedlinburg, the Hochharz national park, the Wendhusen monastery and much more. The villa was renovated, modernised and converted into a hotel in 1999.
