The group of menhirs of Lavajo is constituted by three monoliths, being one of phallic form, and is of greater dimensions known in Portuguese territory with a length of 3,14m of height.
Belonging to the Late Neolithic or Chalcolithic Initial (3,500 / 2,800 BC), these megalithic monuments can be interpreted as marks of territories and / or sacred spaces.
The set of menhirs of Lavajo is a megalithic monument located in the county of Alcoutim, Algarve.
This is the largest known in Portuguese territory with a length of 3.14m in height.
