A Cachoeira da Fumaça é um dos lugares mais visitados da Chapada Diamantina. A razão é simples: sua queda de água tem 380 metros e é a segunda em altura no mundo. Seu nome é resultado da imagem que pode ser vista quando gotículas são levadas pelo vento, formando um aspecto esfumaçado por toda a extensão da queda. Para chegar até lá, é preciso percorrer a trilha onde tiveram origem os primeiros garimpos da região, um lugar cheio de beleza e história. Durante o percurso, que é feito em aproximadamente uma hora e meia, é possível avistar o encanto da Serra do Rio Preto e o Vale do Capão. Depois da longa caminhada a pedida é um refrescante mergulho nas águas cristalinas da Fumaça.
